Great pictures, I like them all, beautifully captured. I myself been lucky in the last two months to have visited a number of places in China too; in particular HuangShan, Wuzhen, HongCun, QianDaoLake, JiuZhaiGou, HuangLong, to name a few. They are really all beautiful places to visit.

This is one of the pic I have taken, the rest are in my site:

Very nice. I was lucky enough to get to JiuZhaiGou aswell but found it to be a frustrating experience actually - for such a beautiful place it sure was noisy and crowded, unlike our National Parks in Australia where you nearly have the whole place to yourself. I definitely want to get back to China and see a lot more of it - it was a fascinating place and now I know what to expect it wont be as much of a culture shock.

Here are a couple of my JiuZhaiGou photos....The first one is obviously taken from the same viewing platform as yours......

Best Regards

I definitely will! If not for a photo expedition, at least to have a coffee.
Do you have go to central on the weekends?
As for the weather, as I write there is perhaps the best sky in months!

I live on the isnald and work in Kwun Tong. Perhaps, we could meet around TST one day for lunch, if weekday, and it'll be my treat!
Let me know when you around!
Cheers,

... dashing to take a pic of the sky!!! ZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hehe just 5 minutes b4hand I looked out the window of my apartment and said that to myself - damn I hate it when you miss a good sunset in HK...they are all too rare. Even tho the one 2nite is still not that good compared to elsewhere its good for here.

Yes, I agree, it sure was noisy and crowded and you hardly can take a decent shot. But, the country offers a lots of facinating places to viisit, I surely would love to go back again. Regards.

Stunning work Anthony.

I was there (in HK, Macau and some of the mainland China) last year - some images are in my PBase gallery - but didn't bring anything remotely comparable.

Still lots to learn apparently:)

Excellent job on these. I love #7 what building is that? I know it's HK but have no idea what is housed in the building.

That building with the B&W zig zag lighting design is the Bank Of China Tower building. It is part of a group of buildings in the financial hub of HK Island. I guess its full of bankers hehe ;-)

Anthony,

Thank you so much for sharing your insights into your approach
to really good photography !
Sorry I didn't reply earlier. I think our timezones are in anti-phase :)

I've bookmarked your user profile so I can watch your posts/photos,
etc.

Best wishes,

Lastly - photography isnt rocket science. You really only need to
understand a few basic principles such as the relationship between
aperture, shutter speed and film speed/ISO and how changing these
values will effect an image (such as using aperture to control DOF)
and some guidelines like matching shutter speed to focal length to
stop camera shake for example. If you also understand some basic
rules of composition you are half way there. You can then apply
these rules to the creative vision inside your minds eye. After
carefully observing your environment for photo opportunities and
how the light is structured you can decide what it is you wish to
convey in your photos and adjust these parameters accordingly. Once
you know these basic rules you also know how to bend them to your
advantage in certain situations. But above all train your self to
REALLY observe the world around you as this is the most important
factor - there are opportunities in the most suprising places.

All the best.

Anthony
