No footballs, meat pies or holden cars, did find a kangaroo or two, on the beach no less. Had a joey along for the ride also

And a blue tongue lizard, often mistaken for a snake

And off for an early morning surf

Nice set of pics. I can do without Holden cars, but I appreciate Footy and Meat Pies as much as the next guy.

will kangoroos really get that close to you?? and with a baby no less!... That's amazing, I can't believe it...

Kangaroos are pretty bold but not particularly friendly. I've never met one that liked to be patted but they all seem happy to take food from your hand, at least in tourist locations. I've even surrended a whole picnic basket to a big red Kangaroo out in the bush. He didn't seem agressive but there is something about a Kangaroo that can stare you straight in the eye you don't want to mess with. Male Kangaroo's have a upper chest muslces as good as a body builder.

Nice pics, reminds me of Pretty or Pebly beach southern NSW.

Almost forgot, last week a guy was in the news after he almost died. He mistook the head of a Death Adder for a Blue Tongue lizard and picked it up. Blue Tongues aren't real dangerous and I used to play with them as a kid but I did read one took a kids finger off a year or two ago.

Yep David, nailed it in one, Pebbly Beach, they were in handout mode, we had a hell of a time keeping the kids from crowding them too much, especially the mum and joey, no incidents though, the roos were well behaved.

Got a nice beach reflection in this one's eye, they do have quite the stare :)

A lot of fun for the kids, quite a well known spot where the roos come down on to the beach for a handout, they are quite tame, but do not show much interest if you come empty handed :)

They can cause quite a deal of damage to the farming community, and do get culled quite often, roo meat is likely one of the most used pet foods down here, not seen to often on the menu though, more a novelty thing.
