This place is called Meteora, which means something like "hanging from the air." Most cliffs have monasteries on top of them, dated from the 15th century,which can be visited. You can check out Wikipedia for further details.It's really a most amazing place specially at Falltime. I could post some more photos later, of this unique place if anyone is interested.

Thanks for taking time to provide a description. Would love to see more from that area.

Here is one from last fall in a mountain park near Banff Naitonal Park... the region is called Kananaskis -- and it's probably Alberta's best kept secret. Few visitors from outside Canada have heard about it.
