After I download all my raw (.nef) files from my D80, I can't seem to edit in Adobe Bridge. I want to be able to organize and edit all my photos in Adobe Bridge before sending it to Photoshop CS. It gets quite annoying each time I double click on an image in Adobe Bridge and it automatically takes me to Photoshop CS. I don't want to do this everytime. Please help!

At the moment I think the only program available to work with d80 raw files is capture nx. I'm sure you will be able to work with adobe in the next few weeks when they update the software.

Have you tried this: In Bridge, go to Preferences --> Advanced. Mark the selection 'Double-click edits Camera Raw settings in Bridge'.

I hope this would help you

Is the RAW format of D80 different from that of D50's? I thought they both do the same NEF-format..

I use to only use PS until I got Nikon Capture. Capture is a fantastic program. Download the free version and check it out.

It's not the format of the NEF it is the camera model name. ARC has NO idea what is or who makes the D80 as the camera name is not in the ARC camera list. So it has no idea how to deal with the file. You have the same problem with a D2Xs.

There was some posts when the D2Xs came out that Capture 4.4 couldn't open the NEF files from that camera although the NEF file format was the same as the D2X. You had to edit the camera name in the NEF file so it looked like a D2X, NO s, so it would open in Capture 4.4.

Thanks for the advise. I've tried that and it will only open in PS. I guess we will just have to wait for the update to come out from Adobe to recognize D80 (NEF) files.

Is there a posted schedule for ACR to get updated? I think 3.4
came out in May...
From the Adobe web site:

Note: Adobe Camera Raw 3.6 development has been accelerated to accommodate recently announced cameras such as the Nikon D80 and the Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel Xti. The update will be provided this fall.

Capture is a much better program than PS to use for basic PP, imho. Also, when you done in Capture you can save your changes as a NEF and then as a JPG for printing. In Photoshop you have to save in PS format or TIFF and then what do you do with the original NEF? What am I missing.
