Was just looking at amazon for FZ30. Black is $890 (and 899.99), Silver $799. Heck, it was down to $469 a couple weeks ago!

This ever happen before when a camera model got replaced and was still wanted? Wow.

I've put off buying a new camera for so long now that I'm seriously considering awaiting whatever is next in line-- from anyone. There's plenty of room for improvement on this series.

Yes. It seems to happen with alot of them. The price drops dramatically when stock is dwindling and a new model is about to come out and then it shoots back up when very limited supplies are left. I've waited too long a couple of times.
 
Never buy anything from these scammers.

In fact be warned when you find a price that is well below all the others.

Yeah, that's amazing or unbelievable. Converted to USD that'd be $438 or $439 right now. How is that possible if no one else has it for less than $500 (or is that $550)!

They sell extended warranty but add that and it's not much over $500 USD, so I don't see how they can sell at that low price; especially considering others were telling of $800 USD in Canada earlier this week.
 
Very low price even with shipping to US (no tax).

Taxes added for Canadians ranges from 6% to 14%, so still not high priced at around 500 CDN.
Wonder if I could finally decide to buy it before gone from there. LOL
 
I hear what you say when you say watch out when the price is to low something is wrong. I ordered from prestige camera and I received a gray market camera that panasonic told me they would not touch it even if I wanted to pay. Prestige told me dont worry we will fix it YEAH RIGHT. now I know they go by 7 other names A&M Photo World / Cameratopia / Digital Liquidators LLC / Ghu, LLC / Preferred Photo / Prestige Camera / Regal Camera / Tronicity/ and finally broadway photo the one you see in all the photography magazines] I finally got my money back after dealing with the BBB/consumer affairs / state protection agency and my credit card company. Boy did I learn cheaper is not always better sometimes the cheaper is more expensive in the long run. and I looked at bestprice camera they have the FZ30 and the FZ50 for the same price that makes alot of sense.

are you serious? the service center wouldn't even fix it FOR A FEE?

(I know that nikon pulls that, uhhh, 'stuff' but I wasn't aware that pany did, too!)

that's quite upsetting.

that's the place that 'offered' to beat someone up (left a voicemail on their phone machine). its famous, or infamous, at this point. google 'broadway photo threat break your neck' and I bet you'll get the link. thomas hawk, I think, was the guy who got the threat on his voicemail.

this is why I pay a little extra for J&R or Vanns or someone like that. or BH, of course. but rarely will I save $20, anymore, only to trade that $20 for major league headaches!

anyway, do you have anthing in writing (or email) from pany saying that this greymarket cam is not fixable, based on the serial # alone (etc) ?

I deal basically with aAdorama camera with all of my needs and never had a problem. I have spent several thousand dollars alot of orders and I will still give them a 5 star rating . I will recommend them to anyboby so far they are the best in my book.

adorama isn't horrible, but they're most certainly NOT the best. I've had my run-ins with those folks before.

I would consider them first tier, but just BARELY. BH is heads and shoulders above them, also in first tier. JR music is also a bit better, I've found. and vanns tops all of them off - all of them.

quite a few times I've ordered from adorama only to get spam mail from them and even items that they took my credit card for but a day later, told me those are not in stock and won't ever BE in stock. thus wasting my time ;(

adorama is also harder to deal with, people wise, than BH.

I still would order from adorama but I also don't expect the same level as service from them as the TOP top-tier sellers.

but we all do agree, bway photo is about as bad as it gets. in this known universe, at least ;)

I guess I lost something in the translation. Thought we were refering to cameracanada.com.

Guess will wait and see how those individuals get treated, since they said they ordered today.
 
Thx for the heads up. I ordered one..............then realised they were located only one hour drive from where I live, so I called them and told them I would take a drive and pick it up myself, tomorrow. :))
