Well, almost run out of insects to shoot, and almost 7pm....quite dark, than I spotted the weaver ant with a larvae. The nest was quite small, so I thought must be few ants inside, and since I also dunno what was inside, I peeled open the leaf quickly, and OUT CAME THE QUEEN!!! Yikes! It was huge! First time seeing it, and I think I have seen it before, with wings, but did not know they were Queen designate!

sorry I haven't commented more. BUT.......for me...........this is the best series yet. The photography is awesome, as usual for you. The story, composition and subject matter exceptional. Thanks so much for indulging your curiosity and sharing your photos.

Wow, you consistently produce outstanding Macro, honestly this work could easily beat most of the stuff i see in DSLR mega buck macro forums.

Great pictures which are very educational. However, I agree with doctordave, they do make me feel queasy, so I would never want to take them.
