5 weeks with my G2

Moved up from Point and Shoot to a G2 5 weeks ago. My first
digital camera and I have lots to learn. Any help on improving my
photography is appreciated.

Thanks

I can see you are having a good time exploring with the new camera.

My first suggestion would be to run just about all of your gallery through PhotoShop, or whatever and correct the tilt. Unless you have a specific reason to do otherwise, buildings should be vertical and the horizon should be horizontal.

Then, take lots of pictures and have a good time with it.

jv,

I spent quite a while enjoying your very good gallery. Other than the leveling issue that Hugh mentioned, I'd say you are doing extremely well. You understand exposure, and you have a very good photographic "eye." I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

These are a couple of my favorites.

ikzook Great shots, some very interesting compositions and perspectives, you have done this before or are a natural framer. DL--Dog Leader 2100/B300

Hugh,

Thanks for the advice. I did just that on all of the pictures that I have posted and they look the better for correcting any tilt. Lots to learn.

I have looked at some of the ones that you have posted and they are great. I appreciate the time you put in to your work and the advice you give to others.

thanks

Thanks for the encouragement and advice. I just started reading through the Short Courses site and some info on Kodak's site. I probably should have read a good book on photography before I started taking pictures. But once I got the camera I have been having to much fun just taking pictures.

Any recommendations on books or web sites to learn the basics?

thanks

Try this one if you haven't seen it.

The best learning is with a camera in your hands :-).
