Oh, my!! Very nice, Cloud (and I don't tell people that all that often!!) I think you have a very good eye. I especially like the ones with far & near details in the picture, like the trees and leaves. Utterly striking. Cat is also a striking composition. Store shot also has good contrasts. Yes, I think that's it--you photos have contrasting elements, and that makes them very appealing to me. Keep it up!! Pat
Some of my C2100 pictures posted on the contest server ...

Very good indeed. The misty tree shot is very much like the b&w art photos of the 30s&40s. Like your cropping to increase the verticality of the shot, am sure it added a lot of "punch" compared to the full frame.

Nice Cloud,

I like the way it has the detail of the bush closeup and the woods just fade into the haze. Your others are nice too.

Thank you. The misty tree was not cropped, it is full frame, but wide angle lens (Raynox HD6600) were used.

I would love to have this one hanging in my family room.
...I definitely agree with Freeda...if this photo hasn't been in or on a magazine, it should be...

...among others, I love the open shop window, and the lone yellow tree (no, I'm not imitating Jono)...and ,well...they're all winners...
...thanks Cloud,

Thanks for your appreciation. The link is not my web site, it is my profile on photo-contest server, and the posts around are criticism. This particular shot was mainly criticised because of perspective error of the lens - look at the "falling" trees behind the yellow leaves.

I like the falling trees. I thought the perspective error was part
of the effect - deliberate. You can correct the perspective easy
enough in Photoshop, but in my opinion, such correction
makes the shot look ordinary. The diverging trees are an
important part of the effect for me.

HI Cloud

What is the 'raynox wide angle' (sorry if I'm being ignorant).

Lack of wide angle is always my gripe with digicams.

Presumably if it works on the 2100 it would also work on the E100, but presumably not on the E10 (oh how I'd love a 21 wa for it)

kind regards

Raynox HD6600 are wide angle add-on lens (or wide angle converter) with koeficient 0,66. So, if you mount it on your E100, you will get 25 mm focal length on the "wide end" of the lens instead of regular 38 mm (equiv.).
I bought it here: http://www.bugeyedigital.com/product_main/ray-hd6600pro.html

Don't be sad, these few pictures are selected from hundreds of bad ones, so keep shooting. And don't forget the "nice price" for every shot = $0.00 :))

The last time I sold all my equipment (except the Yashicamat) was
when I saw a few of someone else's photos and realized I just had
no talent.

Anyone need a 3030?

:-)

Great photos, Cloud!
