Panasonic for me

I agree with Bill. As an-ex Leica user the lenses are not cheap, but usually the best you can get. I think this may be well over $2,000.

The E-1 debuted at over $2000 US, and soon after dropped to $1800, which is what I bought it for.

The 14-54, was $499.

cheers, Justin

There are significant changes in the user interface and appearance. It doesn't have the tilting LCD. This is quite different to the Samsung rebadging of Pentax models.

My bet on the lens is that it will be in the price range of the Nikon 17-55 2.8 and the Canon 17-55 2.8 IS. BUt that is only a guess:)

Including the pro required two control wheels.

The lens would be nice. The body may not add much in capabilities over my E-500 but it adds a lot in style. So if I didn't already have an adequate camera and the price wasn't a problem I would certainly consider it.

If you count the aperture ring on the lens. Very traditionally arranged too --- Rip van Winkle would be quite at home.

The tilting monitor might be an advantage for the E-330, though.

Hopefully Pany just did not have one handy yet and they will include it in the final camera.
Doesn't the LC1 even allow the monitor to be flipped inside?

From the flash animation on the Panasonic side it looks like the L1 will not have a second sensor, as the e-330.

But they state that they can run the sensor at 5v and that even AF can be calculated from the sensor data with the mirror flipped up- maybe the VenusIII is fast enough to do this, and Oly's processor was too slow to allow that?

If that really turns out to be the case, I realy hope for a flipable monitor on the L1.

As close to a Leica M digi as we have seen. The camera will likely be about 1500-1700 IMO. As for the lens, I would question if it will be as much as some here are guessing. 4/3rds is a different market than leica's other offerings atm.
