My R1 was at 120mm, with manual focus set to the min focus distance...using the lcd, I slowly moved in until the catch light came into focus...no cropping.

and not necessarily sweeter than this one. The soft focus on right side, (the left eye), gives a dreamy quality, don't you think?

Outstanding! I've seen some beautiful photos with this camera. My guess, from the photos I've viewed, is that the camera is worth the pricetag, but too high for my allowed budget. Oh well. Fantastic portrait.

it is dreamy but i have a thing about beautiful eyes :) - i'd just like to see them both in focus ...

thanks John, for helping me clarify.

My workflow...
  • shoot RAW
  • Convert to DNG as I copy off the memory stick to the pc/mac
all is good.

Thanks!!!

In this situation, I could not stop down...not enough light...for the moving subject.

Thanks for the coments!!!

  • Shoot RAW (smallest jpg and standard compression)
  • Batch convert to DNG as I copy off the memory stick to the pc/mac using Adobe DNG converter
  • I then open the entire group of images (100-300) all at once in Adobe camera RAW. Review, delete, crop, adjust in Camera Raw...click "done" to apply changes to the DNG, but do not open them. So at this point, I have gotten rid of all the bad shots, applied cropping/rotation, exposure and white balance.
  • I then batch convert the group to create 4"x6" images @ 300ppi.
  • Upload all the images to get prints. Only 15 cents each with a prepaid plan.
  • After looking at the prints, if I like an image, I will develop that image from RAW at a larger size to make a print.
