First of all (and really the only reason that I'm posting), if you are doing only batch conversions / processing with the files, why are you converting your jpegs to tiffs at all? If you need them as tiff later they can be converted. Jim - sorry I wasn't clear - after I do the conversions to TIFF, I then do individual editing of each shot and resave as TIFF.I find that I like using command line utilities for doing bulk
processing of images using things like imagemagick or image alchemy
depending on OS.

You could also create an action that saved the edited TIFF and then converted to 8-bit (if necessary) and save the JPEG in whatever quality you want. All with the press of a function key.In addition to all above mentioned applications, if you use
Photoshop to edit your images, you can record an action and run it
in batch for all files in a directory within Photoshop.
