I never should have bought the D50

I also agree with others over this camera, their is always so much hype on cameras and the design label, I think reading on some forums this camera's main knock seems to be the kit lense, easy resolved buy a body then choose your lense as I did, well pleased with the set up, yes their are things that the camera does not have like others, but I think people seem to forget this camera body is in the back pocket money range, for this reason I think the camera is fantastic. The first slr I bought in the early 1970's cost me over 7 weeks wages, was an apprentice at the time. Spec's then were a joke compared to today.

Congratulations Randy. Happy for you. Good choice. Before long you will want some reach too.

Thanks Jakob. I hope you will be as happy with the D50 as I am.
When you get it let's see some pictures.
I will, after a while since iam totaly newbie to Dslr :0)
What lens are you getting?
I was planning to buy the body and the 18-70 mm.Then later a 50mm 1.8 since i realy like natural light evening shots :0). Iam going for the expensive kit lens since iam quite picky and had to convince myself that the d50 is just as good picturewise as the 350d, and i think the better lens does the trick :0)

Hope its the right choise, but i prefer to buy a lense that is a bit better, and that i can keep for long time.
Funny about the boat, it was just suddenly lying there on the
beach. It has now been lying there for more than 14 days.
Strange :0), but it makes a nice motive anyway.

Best wishes

By the way torben which SD card are you using. I was vondering if the camera can use the more expensive ones to the fullest or if slower and cheaper ones can keep up ?

Best wishes

I bought a X4-store 1Gb with the camera. Never heard of it before. It works great. Later I bought a Transcend 1Gb too. I also works great. This week a supermarket chain had offers for SD cards, so I thought I would try one. I also works great, even in cont. mode. The brand is called MicroMemory. So I never had problems even though I don't have any expensive cards.

wow, great shots!

the first one is absolutely jawdropping :)

the second one is somehow an impostor in the bunch, if I may say, cause it seems like just a snapshot compared to the others.

great work.

cheers,
Zrinko.

Aldi ??

Do you still get the almost 3 frames per sec with those cards ??
Yes from Aldi. I tried to shoot in continous in raw and I got the same amount of shot, maybe a little slower than with the Trancend card, but nothing that you could measure without a stopwatch. We are talking tenths of a second.
