Glad you've heard from her. I'm sure she'll get home as soon as she's able, at least you could contact her.

Sickened at candy distributors... How is it that we need to be so politically correct and go so far out of our way in so many ways in nearly every conflict that springs up around the world, yet part of the world can openly celebrate at our deaths & destruction? I suppose much of it is cultural and due to indoctrination from birth. It's times like these that we really need to be thankful for the freedom we have. I expect air travel is to take a turn towards the worse, but with security like no one has ever seen coming out. Sad it would take such a tragedy to force us to increase security.

Brian,

What can anyone say? But, our thoughts are with you.

This is almost surreal, an attack on both trade towers and The Pentagon? That's just beyond my ability to absorb. I fear there will be retribution and we will not enter the 21st century very peacefully afterall.

I'm sure that I, like many, am just amazed that such a thing could happen. The World Trade Center bombing a few years ago seemed such an unlikely event and now this... Perhaps we are too complacent, and too used to enjoying our freedom. I think we need to be more conscious of it and the price we pay to have it.

Where will it end, and to what lengths must we go to do it?

SAD is the one word that sums up the entire situation.

May our prayers also go with those who have and may yet leave us.
Hopefully they will go onto a better place where this sort of
madness does not happen.

For our international friends, thanks for your concern and prayers.
This has shaken us Americans to our core.

I was just about a mile from the midtown tunnel driving to work and saw with my own eyes the horrific scene, all you saw were people starring with their mouths open.

Every day when driving to work I would see the 2 WTC Towers, standing proudly, now they are no more, I just can't believe it.

May all of our prayers be with the many victims and their family and friends.

Brian, do I understand that you are in Manhattan and near?? IF so, my heart goes out to you--one would forever be changed by this--I believe, in fact, that we all will be changed, but not like the people that have seen and experienced it first hand.

I am an atheist but my thoughts are very much with those who are suffering. This is a terrible thing to happen to anyone. Shocking! I hope they track down whoever it is and mete out severe justice.

The West has a settled political system and seems happy and propsperous with it. Others are not so fortunate and spread their turmoil. We are an open society and some seek to abuse this. I hope we are strong and united and keep what we have been given. I believe that in doing so we will overcome this menace.

Seb,

You humor is not recognized over here.
Maybe later, but right now, I am really sad.

I agree. This is not a time for flippancy, or jokes. K.

Hello Seb,

Photography is a joy for me and what happened today was purely horror.
One would wonder what's happening to humanity.

I find your rerply a little inproper at this moment - I know you didn't mean it in the way it sounds, but still ...

This is not ment to offend you, certainly not, but I hope you can understand my point of view.
This is a sad day for mankind ... and I'm deeply impressed with what happened.

Tomorrow, we will have to explain it to the children of our school, and that will be a hard job to do it well - on their level.

Horrible images on TV ... almost unreal and unbelievable.
I hope your daughter is ok ...
I hope all our friends over here are ok ...

It's a darn shame people can't get along and have to resort to
utterly violent acts to be noticed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.

Peace.
