Tokina 12-24 at the Beach

They look great!

I'm curious though as to which beach you were at. That all looks so familiar.

These were taken at Surfside Beach, just south of Myrtle Beach, SC. With the hurricane in the area I wonder if that pier will be there in a couple of days.

Thanks for the comments so far.

That's why! I go there a couple of times a year usually. Thanks for sharing these.

Beautiful photographs. I too am seriously considering the Tokina 12-24. Sorry about what is probably a dumb question. You provided info about tone, curve, WB. If you are shooting raw, do these settings matter?

It looks likely that Hurricane Ophelia will pass you by. Congratulations!

I like all of them. I'm trying to learn what makes a good WA shot. These are lovely, both posts. Thanks for posting. Kit

Thanks for posting such nice things to look at.

Must-have-that-lens. ;)

This lens has been in my BHPhoto shopping cart about a dozen times, and no matter what, my wife walks in and does that foot tapping thing : / One of these days! Great photos, I appreciate you sharing them!

Best regards,
Tom

PS She has said with my bonus check I can get it, October seems as far away as Christmas!

The depth and tone are beautiful. I'm about to 'go digital' SLR-wise and my greatest worry is getting a decent ultra wide angle (minimum 20mm equiv). I've been eyeballing the Tokina, but am worried about the pincushion distortion at the wide end of the zoom range. Could you post a picture that shows the distortion (or lack thereof) more clearly? For example, a building or something, a subject with a lot of parrallel lines both horizontal and vertical.

Thanks.

Ashley,

How are you getting that camera EXIF info in the jpg file to display like that? I like having the technical info like that for reference when viewing jpgs and would like to do the same.
