All done with the D50 and Kit lens. Hoya R72 Filter was used.

Very promissing IMO

The camera is light and easy to work with

Benoit G was with me and I think he and I wouldn't have a problem recommending the camera for any type of photography to anyone that loves photography.

Here are the shots ...

Same shot but in color

With a different PP twist ...

Thx for looking questions and comments welcome ...

Excelent! I especially like the colours in #3, 4 , 5, 6
Care to share the PP details?

I know a thing or two about PP but I'm certainly not an expert. Are there any good actions for PP of IR photos?

BTW
My Hoya IR is in the mail and I can hardly wait!

Yves,

Thank you for sharing the pics. Have you considered getting the IR filter removed altogether?

Absolutely love the 3rd one. Fantastic job in terms of the capture and post processing. Can you go over your technique? How and what you used to take the photos? Thanks!

wow, the pictures looks awsome, very sharp for a 1-2 sec. exposure. I used to take IR photos with my coolpix 5700, but the leafs of the trees always look blured with long exposures, and taking poeple in the pictures was very dificult to me since they all look blured also.

I have just bought a D70, but I've no lens to match my Hoya R72 filter yet, but looking this photos and the ones that people shows here with their D70s it's very encouraging.

sure it's not a converted camera? how short can a exposure be while producing a decent IR photo still (in my CP5700 was 1/4sec ina very VERY sunny day).

greeting.

Yves is right. The D50 is a hell of a good little camera. Very light and the 18-55 kit lens snaps quite fast. The LCD screen is really bright and contrasty too. This camera is a winner IMO.

Hi David, thx, that one is only borrowed but I am very impressed with it ...
Looks like you have the whole range of Nikon DSLRs :-)

These are great shots - you do well with any camera in your hands!

It is a regular D50.

If you crank the ISO a bit, you get a short shutter time ... Very short. 1/15, 1/30 ....

It is evidently easier in good sunny day where you have a good existing contrast. Even better if you can find clouds around.

Hi Yves,

Long time no hear. Great shots as usual. Hardly visit the D100/D1/2 forum anymore. I would be interested in your views of the D50 as I am seriously considering it as a third body (back-up for my 2 D70's, and for the high ISO stuff). What do you consider the positives and negatives of the D50? Thanks, and nice to "see" you again.

I'm at a loss. My photos are just extremely red with no cool "false color" I set the WB to a cluster of bright grass with my Hoya on. And they still come out different shades of red. I love these photos and really want to get something similar. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
