A relative wants an A75, it HAS to be an A75, not an A70 or an A85 or an A510 but an A75 - Why? - because a combo of Price, CF cards (they have loads), 3X zoom, manual features, AA Batteries, Direct print button with the ability to print passport sized pics on a CP300 (the A70 and my G3 don't do this, only fullsize), decent sized LCD etc ..

I know it's an old model and E-Bay isn't much help, a used one or old stock would be just fine..

Click the above link. There are five stores which carry still A75.
But I think the price is a bit expensive.
It is at the other two shops above too, they could get an A510 AND an SD card for the same money (negating the need for the CF slot compatibility) . I was hoping there'd be a few blowouts for £100-£120

Hi Adam, I wonder if I could get your opinion on a post of mine at Pro Digital concerning Auto-focus of the big two. Thanks, Pops

I've not compared them directly but HAVE used both and I think the CAM2000 setup in the D2X has the edge in both sensitivity and accuracy over the 45-point setup in the 1DS and 1D-II ..

The D2X is quite a bargain as is the original 1DS if you can find a minter, both have weaknesses and have similar compromises but the 1DS-II is too damn expensive in the UK..

I've never liked the image quality of either the D2H or the 1D MK2 and the former would appear to have more reliabilty issues than I'd be happy with, the D2X seems fine..

For some strange reason but I prefer the older F100/F5 based body of the D1 series than the newer D2 series, the D2 series feel more like a souped up 20D class camera than a full on pro, don't ask me why I feel this way about them as I can't explain it but ....

Thanks again Adam, you always help out those of us less knowledgable and

you do it without brand prejudice. In as much as I am all Canon in my own camera kits I was some what reluctant posting it here so I placed the post in the Pro forum.

I appreciate your insight in this matter and would dearly love the Nikon DX2 but believe that the camera cost is out of reach unless I found a dealer willing to trade my kit fairly. Even then I find that to replace what I have with Nikno equivelants would be costly. I do not have a large assortment of lenses for my Canon as shown in my Profile but what I have are all in very fine condition and all of them are sharp lenses.

I think that the NEW DH2s is more in my budget and I know it uses the same AF of the DX2. Thanks again Adam and if you find out more about the DH2s upgrade to the DH2 model please email me or post. Pops

BTW a DX2 is a stillborn Yamaha FM Synthsizer of the early 80s ;-) .. the D2H just hasn't the image quality, the old 1D beats it easily and even Nikon's own humble D70 blows it away - I'd suggest seeing if you can get a used 1DS MK1 unless you really need the 8FPS, I'm sure that the AF of the Canon 1-series would be more than good enough and IF you need the FPS speed, the price diff between the D2H and the 1D MK2 is narrowing all the time, in fact far less than the amount you'd lose switching systems

Thanks Adam, I'll check the FM buy & sell forum for a while and might find a decent 1D. Pops
