Hi all,

New to the forum, lit's great! I recently graduated from the G2 to the XT - love it! After a few sessions with the XT, I found my fingers getting tired from the slightly small grip. I thought it sure would be nice if I could use the un-used space in the palm of my hand (I know I'm setting myself up with that statement) to hold the camera. Voila. Bottom Line, I went and bought a black foam ball (toy section at Walmart), cut it in half and velcro'd it to the side. The size can be varied depending on how much you cut away. I used the fuzzy part of the velcro on the camera. It works great for me, maybe it will work for you.

I'd show you a picture, however, I haven't been able to figure it out yet.

I like it. Someone who solves their grievances rather than complain about them!

And a trusty 28-105USM attached as well...a right sensible lad all around. Kudos to you!

Thanks for the comments. With so many complaints about the small grip, I was surprised more people didnt hit on this one. I guess it's not as big a deal as I thought. Oh well, working great for me. Regards!

My guess is that you still would need something like velcro to keep it firmly in wanted place.

The original idea is brilliant. Although I have not nay major problem with the grip, I stll may try that just to see if it makes a real difference. Nice part of that is that you can leave it to home if you do need that.

One thing I'd like to hear experiences is how all sort of dirt start to affect - especially to the part permanently attached to the body.
...if you split it open you could wrap it around the grip area.

I'd buy one in a second if it fit well and looked nice. How hard could it be to manufacture a piece of molded, black plastic to fit over the grip?Seems like there is MUCH interest in increasing the grip size.
