Are any Minolta flashes working well on the 7D?

OK, I think I finally set things up so that you guys can view a few
random 7D with 5600HS attached shots. These were taken in full
"program" mode to be fair, since we all shoot a little differently
when we start overiding the camera's computer. Anyway, these are
shot with very little ambient lighting at all. In fact, the room
was quite dark. I just walked over near the fireplace and snapped
off a few shots. Check out the album marked "7D" at

I got this message when I clicked your link: Sorry, hdwriter has

OK, problem fixed. Please try again.

my 5600 HSD works fine. Better than on the A1, which was very good. The 5600 is righjt on in direct and bounce mode. I use a cheap sigma lens, in ttl mode...Doug M

I have just received my 2nd 7D as I returned the first due to the flash problem.
Guess what? It still performs the same, badly.

Obviously there will be many different batches of flash guns and Minolta cannot be expected to try absolutely every batch/flash combination so I am wondering if there is actually a problem with a certain batch or batches of flashguns that the 7D does not get on with. Although it is difficult to form any real theory on a sample of 2. Impossible in fact.

Roll on firmware update.

My Minolta 3600 HS(D) is so far working pretty well - having said
that I haven't taken that many flash pics so far so maybe I haven't
used it often enough for problems to arrive? I did some indoor
shots with it on saturday though and no exposure problems at all.
My 3600 works fine when it is attached to the camera, but it overexposes 1 - 1,5 stops when it used in the wireless mode. The camera's built in flash works fine.

I see the thread about the 5600s being a problem, and wonder if any
Minolta flashes are working well on the 7D.

Can anyone help me out here before I buy the wrong flash?

Thanks!

I just got a Sunpak power zoom 40X that is compatible with 7D.
Cheers!
I've been observing all the threads relating to the flash problem,
prior to my 7D order going in, and just was wondering if its a
Minolta only problem or if other makes are affected too? i.e.
Jessops, Sunpak etc Do other makes have HSS?

Thanks
