Let's all put a face to our posts...

I did years of road running and high impact circuit training. I feel the strain in my knees now at the ripe old age of 32! You can't beat a good run for quality thinking time, plus you feel great afterwards.

Basically doing what I love to do best--RUN!! Sorry, photography
is a close second.
Shot by my wife. D100/60mm micro. Cropped a bunch, then upsampled
using the "percentage--repeat" technique in Kelby's book.

Taken by my wife in La Cegal, Nantes (in France) last week. I'd been travelling a lot so look pretty knackered (that's my excuse anyway!).

Cheers
Chris

I think it would be neat to be able to put a face behind the
posters on this board... I feel like I know some of the posters
here because I read the board nearly every day and have picked up
on sense of humor and temperament...

I'm always curious what people look like....

I'll start.. Here's me with my baby boy...

I started with a regular NEF that I exposed corectly. I also shot this with natural window light. I then pushed the exposure in Adobe Camera Raw (you can use Capture also) to give it a low contrast blown out look.

I wanted the back ground (which was white) to compleatly go white, and some of the facial details. Then In Photoshop I did some fixing of my eyes, there was a nasty highlight covering the right eye.

Next I did added Channel mixer layer and ajusted it until I got the desired look for the face. these same setting did not work for the shirt I was wearing, so I painted in a mask to cover the shirt.

Then I copied the mask, added a new channel mixer layer and pasted the mask in to that layer. I inveted the mask so that it covered the face and wall. I then adjusted the channels untill I got the desired look for the shirt.

Finally I added a levels layer to make some adjustment to the overall tone and compressed the highlights and shaddows and shifted the midtones so they were very soft and didint have to much detail.

I really wanted this to have a very hard etched look but still feel like a photo.

Hope this helps
