Hi Sven, thanks for commenting,Excellent shots, Sander, I love the colors! Thanks for sharing!
Yes indeed, 12mm with f/4, ISO 500 and 0.8 seconds handheld from across the street right up to the curb to be able to get as close to the passing taxi's as possible, I have some more shots from a few yards further away and it's no problem at all fitting the whole building into the frame.I assume that the one below was taken with the 12-24 DX, but at
what focal length? Its widest?
you are very right and very welcome, thanks for commentingGreat photo-travel-log Sander! Manhattan is always fun to look at
(although much funner to visit!) DC ain't bad either.
Thanks for posting!!
Thank you Roger, I can imagine you missing it down in sunny Florida, NY is great this time of year, it's all geared up for christmas with a wonderfull atmosphere...Excellent work Sander, I assume thats the cathedral on 5th Ave, I
love that shot actually I love them all. I miss my home, Queens, NY
Great work
So I just came back from a short vacation (please read no further
if you are offended by such trivial posts...)
I won't go as far as to call these photos 'Artistic', so I'll call
them 'Artsy'.
What I mean is I zoomed, skewed and moved a lot during the creation
of these shots, and than used some unsual ACR conversion techniques
pumping color and contrast to a 'pleasing' level.
All shots taken with D2h with either a 70-200 VR or a 12-24 DX, the
difference is of course apparent. Most often long shutterspeeds,
handheld or tripod supported, ISO usually at 800 or up, sometimes
(tripod) as low as 200 which is atypical for me.
So here's a small number of the grand total, taken recently in New
York & Washington, I have to thank Janet, RFC, James, Brent, Ron
and others for helping me out in the preparation for the trip, I
appreciate it a lot!
