How many do you carry with you?

Since getting my 10D I was looking in my old camera bag. My old heavy bag had a wide assortment of lenses (I got lucky buying my camera used) I had all kinds of lenses, but when looking back I pretty much only used my 28-200 and 50.

Now I am rebuilding my lenses from scratch. So far I have the 17-40L and 50 1.8. I am finding that I miss my telephoto, but it is a tough choice. I think I will probably go with the 70-200L f4. It is a nice compromise with size and speed. A 2.8 would be nice but I just doubt I would carry it enough.

So what's in your wallet, errr bag?

EF 16-35mm F/2.8L USM
EF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM
EF 70-200mm F/2.8L IS USM
EF 50 F/1.4 USM
EF 85mm f1.8 USM
EF 135mm f/2.0L USM
EF 180mm F3.5L USM Macro
EF 300mm F/2.8L IS USM

Depends on what I'm shooting determines what I carry.

Canon:
24 2.8
35 2.0
50 1.4
28-135 IS
70-200 2.8L
24 TS-E 3.5L

Sigma:
15-30

I don't always carry the TS-E with me, depends oin what i will be shooting.

When I am going really light at night, I only take the 24, 35, and 50.

For my daytime light weight rig I only take my 28-135 with the 50 thrown in "just in case".

After purchasing the Rebel 300 I recycled my lenses. I sold most of the ones I had. Now I have less lenses but better glass. :-)

Presently I have all Canon:
17-40mm/f4L
50mm/f1.4
85mm/f1.8
70-200mm/f4L - arrived today - refurbished from B&H

Still have, but selling the 28-135 IS

17-40 f/4 L
28-135 IS
70-300 DO
100-400 IS L

Other brands:
28-80 f/2.8 Tokina ATX Pro

Started with a Sigma 15mm fisheye and 28-135IS on a D60. Great range.
Last summer I added a 28 f1.8 USM, an 85 f1.8 USM and a Sigma 15-30.
So far, I'm VERY happy with the choices I made.

I'm about to add a Sigma 70-200 2.8, and I really salivate about the Sigma 18-50 f2.8 due this september. Too bad I can't get it for my wedding on 9/04. 18-50 and 70-200 all at 2.8 on 2 cameras and I think most of my needs would be fulfilled!

Oh, how many do I carry with me? at weddings, ALL, no exception. The rest of the time, usually only 1 or 2.

Canon 28-135 IS
Canon 50mm f/1.8II
Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro
Sigma 15-30EX
Tokina 80-200 f/2.8

Usually I carry everything, but for lighter situations I may just take the 90mm macro and the 15-30.

How have you liked your 70-300DO so far? That lens is almost what I would consider perfect for me. I like to travel light and my 50, 17-40 and 70-300DO would be 3 I always use. I am just a bit gun shy due to the very mixed reviews of this lens and the cost (big gamble it seems). That is why I was considering the 70-200 F4. A little larger but still a lens that isn't so big and bulky I wouldn't carry it around.

I sold my 70-200 f/4 L after buying the DO. I'm very happy so far.

This was wide open at 300mm hand held 800ISO through glass:

I don't always carry all of these, but here's what I have:

Sigma: 12-24
Canon: 28-105
50 1.8
100 2.8 Macro
28-70 2.8L
70-200 4L
100-400 L IS

I suspect I'll sell the 70-200 as the 100-400 has the reach I really wanted in a zoom. I almost never use the 28-105 but it came with my old A2E.
