Lexar CF card causes Backfocus!!!

And you keep working to buy that D70 that you currently do NOT own.
I am quite sure that this troll only owns a digital Barbie camera.
His allowance from his mom and dad is only $5.00 a week so give him
a break.

Someday young troll when you grow up you will be able to by a big
persons camera.
Thanks for your input Brett! Keep working on that sense of humour!

Devastating come-back Brett, well done. By the way, I assume you've realised by now that this whole thread is a joke? I hope you're not actually taking it seriously...

I've been sitting on the fence (not a comfortable place) trying to decide between the D70 and 300D. I was leaning towards the D70, but now you have me scared. Any camera whose focus is dependent on the CF card must be a piece of crud.

But I like the black camera color, so who cares if my pics are out of focus.

As long as I'm at it, I need some advice. We-rip-you-off.com has a D70 bundled with a 70-200VR, Bogen tripod and head, and a 25 gig non-Lexar card for only $437. Free overnight shipping. The only problem I see is that I have to mail them cash, which will delay things by two days. Is this price worth waiting an extra two days for?

this whole thread may not be intended to be serious.

hey...bubb...did you find out today your D70 was so far back focus since you forget to waer your underwear?

man...someone just has too thick skin...I'm done here, can keep pouring water over some dang duck head...

OK, now I know I have bf. I have a lexar card and my D70 does not exhibit bf. If lexar cards cause bf, and my D70 with Lexar card does not bf, doesn't that mean my D70 has bf?

So, I am sending my D70 back tomorrow so it can be fixed to properly bf with the lexar card.

Why should I be the only one who has a D70 that is focusing incorrectly with the Lexar card?

Go figure! Digital cameras are so complicated...
My camera focussed fine with my Sandisk CF card, but now I tried a
Lexar card and there's definite backfocus. I've been using Nikon
cameras since 1853 and so don't you dare suggest it's user error!
If I swap to a Dane Elec 8MB card I get about 2.3mm of front focus!
Next time I'll get a Sony as at least those use memory sticks!

. . . then all the better, right?

I can't PERSONALLY vouch for these guys, since I was a big sissy and paid WAY more than that (plus sales tax) and bought my gear from my local brick and mortar, but I know this guy that made a deal with them for 100 of these D70/70-200VR/Bogen packages you describe.

They wanted him to send the cash first, and he wanted them to ship COD, so they compromised and agreed that he would just take them the cash personally and pick up the kits. He must have really liked it there, too, 'cause he still hasn't come back.

Good luck!

Yes, I "realised" it was a joke. You obviously do not understand sarcasm. You are in desperate need of another hobby... and a spell checker.

Oh, but the 300D is even worse. I should know. I had one.

One morning, she backfocused on my ON PURPOSE, simply because I forgot to say Good Morning.

As for the we-rip-you-off.com, don't worry. I ordered from them. I am still waiting for my camera, but they sent me this nice postcard from the Bahamas. Best $600 I ever spent.

Think about it.....the CF card is stroage that saves information that is passed to it frrom the camera.....How can the model of CF card effect the focus? It cant!

Because if the storage card is too thin, then it kind of squeezes the images inside, making them lose their focus. Simple, isn't it? That's why you're safer with a type II CF card. They're thicker.

Yeah right. Oh well at least you realise it now. BTW, no spell checker needed. I'm writing British-English, guess you hadn't figured that out either.

Take some of these comments with a pinch of salt. It was one of these buggers who told me to shoot a wedding in RAW. I did and got thrown out by the bride's mum; she told me not to come back until until I got me pants on.

Sheesh! You guys.

You won't see me switching to Sony though. I'm not sitting on any
