Hi everyone,

I posted this as a joke in Morris' Self Portrait Challenge on the Canon forum. But got such a kick out of it that I thought I'd post it here.

For all of you Photo Shop pros out there, I know you're probably laughing right now. I'm a newbie at PS, so I sometimes revert back to the easy stuff.

Someday I hope to challenge N.C. to a P.S. duel. He inspires me to try these things. Although I doubt that I'll ever be able to put a finished picture of me the way he does so easily. ;) Sharon

Thanks for the great compliment! I really don't understand why people are shy about posting self portraits?! There are 100's of people who see your face when you shop at the mall. For all you know we could all be a fancy chat program created by a saavy computer! You should know by now that everyone in this forum is very supportive...but I don't want to pressure you. ;-]

BTW Nice portrait!

Hum, I have been thinking of starting the same thread hear. It is interesting to see it bleed over.

See what you've started. I use to be afraid just to reply to other's posts. ;)

Thanks Yuran,

But I think that's it for me. I hate pictures of myself and thought this was a fun way to participate in Morris's post on the canon forum and still feel comfortable. I guess everyone isn't as inhibited as I am. Well, maybe Vicki. My first picture was a side shot, something like hers. But they wanted more so I put this one up as a little joke. :) Sharon

I want to learn to be more creative with my pictures but just don't know where to start. I have PS 5. I do know that I need to learn how to use the selection tool correctly. I think you did a fine job and I really like viewing N.C.'s photos as he is so creative and you never know what to expect. He just let's his imagination go wild! We all learn from each other.

Hi Vicki,

That's where these cute little programs for amateurs come in. I got this particular one years ago when I didn't even know how to save a file. Next came Adobe Photo Deluxe. Each time I learned more and would take a step up. I love Photo Impact. It's great.

But, here it seems that if you want to play with the big boys, you better have Photo Shop. So now thanks to purchasing the G1 with PS LE I'm finally getting a taste of it. And I've come a long way.

This picture wasn't done with PS and was thrown together in a second. I should have spent more time with it and done a better job. But it was just a joke for the guys in the Canon Forum who were teasing me.

I've been taking classes here at this address. http://graphicssoft.about.com/compute/graphicssoft/mbody.htm

I've learned so much already and like it. Although I'm having a bit of a problem because I only have LE and the lessons are for people with your version and above. I recommend it. Maybe you are more advanced than that. But they have other lessons there as well.
N.C. Suggested these and they look very good.

I really like this. 'Tis a shame that you can't show your eyes, but I understand "a girl's gotta watch out for herself". A real shame, the rest of you is very pretty.

BTW, I'm curious, what kind of strap is that comin' over your shoulder? lol.

Nice photoshop work for a self proclaimed newbie.

Thanks Michael,

Yes, a girl does have to watch out for herself. Just stick 2 big brown eyes in there and you got me. ;)

And "darn that strap!" I know how to remove it in PS now. I noticed it after I posted and said %& # to myself. Why didn't I take that out!
