has anyone had any experience of the battery sold on ebay by battery pro for fz1/fz2, i emailed them and asked about the poor fitting problem with aftermarket products and they say that theirs dont have any problems and are 100% compatible with camera and charger, they cost £10.50 + postage which seems good if they work as intended.

I didn't get that specific battery from that specific vendor but I did buy an "aftermarket" battery on E-Bay for $19.80. It works just great ... although the fit in the battery charger is slightly more loose than with the original Panasonic battery.

The battery question keeps coming up because Panasonic sells their battery at too high of a price ($77) and many of us who are not in the US (I'm in Canada) have to buy from EBay or other replacement vendors.

As I understand, Eagle Imports has a good quality replacement battery, but their $15 shipping charge to Canada make their $20 battery unattractive. And I hate to think what they charge for shipping overseas.

I have found another retailer in Amherst, NY - TangShop.com - a Yahoo store which sells what appears to be a genuine Panasonic battery for $29 plus a modest shipping charge of $4.95 to Canada. I also think they ship internationally.
I've ordered mine yesterday and I'll post back when it arrives.

Meanwhile, for all of you out there in the UK or elsewhere, I did buy an EBay fake from Honh Kong, and it works just fine. You may want to try the TangShop, or wait till I post the result.

they arent pretending to be genuine panasonic but looking at the photo the terminals look set back as do the ones in the picture of the genuine panasonic on the link above ( fingers crossed )

I haven't done any extensive comparitive tests, but I haven't noticed any major difference. Perhaps there are others that have more detailed results.

hello mark i just ordered a battery this morning, i emailed them and they said that the picture is the actual product and they are in the uk also they should ship day after payment, please let me know if they are any good if you get youres before me. ps i have seen the same photo on another site at more than double the price.
