Hello,

This is a panorama picture of Quebec City that I took this afternoon. I think it's quite good, althought I'm still wondering if it looks better in B&W.

On your left you see the Chateau Frontenac that was build in the late 19th century. Today it is one of the most prestigious hotel you can find in Quebec City.

You can also see the St-Lawrence River. It's in traveller's tales, from the XVIIIth century that we find the name St-Lawrence. However, the American Indians called it «The river that walks», long before.

And then on the extreme right, you can catch a glimpse of La Citadelle, build in 1899. La Citadelle is the most important fortification built in Canada under British rules.

I hope you enjoy it!

I think it is beautiful. You didn't ask for criticism but I am offering it anyway. The stair rail in the far right detracts from the picture. Take that out and you have a great photo.

Hmm... that stair rail is almost central to the pano. Did you see the circular brick structure well to the right of the picture?

Sock... that's an excellent pano. I believe I stood on that spot in the mid 70s, though not in the winter.

I first thought the stair rail looked ok, now I'm starting to reconsider heh.

The structure on the right is La Citadelle. (check the first post if you dont know what it is! :)

Thank you for your comment !
Btw, I was using a C-750!

and thanks also for the description and history information.

I like it in color...especially the colors of the Chateau Frontenac!

Also, IMHO wouldn't worry about the railing...I didn't even notice it as I was looking at all the other wonderful elements you pointed out.

Excellent...thanks for sharing this. :)

of the city.

Get rid of the pipe on the right with a little PS work as it is a distraction to the overall picture.

Very good.

Well thank you.

The shot I took from the Chateau alone are all very good and colorful, I might post them too soon!

I removed the rail at home on PS, and basically it doesnt do any good to the photo. So I'll leave it as is, I think the rail makes "reality" settles in a bit, which is ok for me!

I think it would get out the rich color of the chateau and reduce the quality of your picture.

I could spot Ile d'Orleans bridge :-))

Very nice work with the shots and the stitching :-))

Thx GrayLady,

yeah I forgot to mention L'Ile d'Orlean, which is SUCH a nice place to spend some time and just relax!

Great picture, Sock!
And a very nice pano job too.

I believe it would look very good in bw. But what could be even more impressive imo, is a closer shot of the hotel in bw.
