Just went into Lightroom and can find no lens profiles for Leica L lenses. M yes, S yes, R yes but SL no. Are they just hiding from me?

This was when working on DNG files not jpg.

No SL lenses mentioned. Maybe they are too perfect to need a profile 😁

You may be right. Of the M lenses I have distortion is so minimal the lens profiles do very little. And they don’t seem to do any vignette correction which I would like to see.

I don't have Lightroom, but ACR will correct pictures taken with SL lenses automatically. The DNG file contains the data provided by the lensmanufacturer, so ACR knows what to do. The same will probably hold good for Lightroom.

In ART I have a choice:

1. use the distortion profile in DNG

2. use the distortion profile in Lensfun

3. use the distortion profile used in JPG files.

If you go to Lightroom's Lens Correction panel, you will see that at the bottom, it says, "Built-in Lens Profile applied." That means that the lens profile is embedded in the DNG, and there is no need for an Adobe profile.

thanks, will check that .

Yes, with the L-system bodies and lenses, the body and lens profile corrections are embedded in the raw files' metadata and are automatically extracted and used in Lightroom. Example: Leica SL typ 601 with the APO-Vario-Elmarit-SL 90-280/2.8-4 lens fitted:
