Does anyone here know if shooting with the 1:1 aspect ratio, will the Apple iPhone 14/15 Pro Max crop out the excess pixels, or it'll just append the aspect ratio information into the EXIF, but retain the full 4:3 ratio image?

Thanks!

Almost certainly the jpeg or heic images would be 1:1 and if the raw file has the extra pixels I can't figure out how to extract them.

Maybe someone else knows for sure.

Have you tried examining the RAW files in Photoshop or Lightroom?

Yes - they appear square

Even when you go to the edit panel?

Seems I was wrong.

I transferred jpg and dng files over to the Mac.

When I import the dng into Lightroom Classic I get the full size image (without the 1:1 crop).

Is the full size utilizing a 4:3 ratio?
