Next Panasonic MF3 body?

With a stated focus on MF3 bodies this year, what are the chances Panasonic will leapfrog the E-M1 iii with a higher resolution sensor and similar IBIS, autofocus and other specs? And when will we know?

Thoughts?
 
Have you seen any information on mFTs sensors for digital cameras with more than 20MP? Sony still does not list any on the product information site. Panasonic sold their semiconductor business last November. Maybe Nouvoton Technology Corp will produce the next Panasonic sensor.

There was a new Sony 24mp, multi aspect ratio, dual ISO sensor for MFT that they had listed as for security cameras which could be for a GH6 or something. If I remember right nobody knew the GH5S was coming as its sensor was listed for security cameras too.
 
The organic sensor must be very very close to making the shift from the video camera to the GH series.

It's already in production in one of their (Panasonic) video cameras. Global shutter too. Google it. Can't think off hand exactly what the model name/number is. Still expensive, but economy of scale should help with that. It's got to be really close to hitting hybrid m4/3 cameras now

I read all that before. There have been prototypes for a couple of years. One of the problems was the large amount of heat generated being a significant problem for smaller cameras. Sony is also rumored to be working on an organic sensor.

Is there actually a camera that is in production or planned in the near future? The last things I saw were from Oct.2019 about the camera prototypes and then Panasonic sold their semiconductor division to Nouvoton Technology Corp in Nov. 2019. Maybe Nouvoton and Fuji are producing the sensor, though the latest Fuji APS cameras have a Sony sensor.

Why is everyone still so obsessed with megapixels? Does everyone have the need for wall-sized blow-up prints, or the need to severely crop most of their pictures? Even then our 20 megapixel cameras could more than take care of those needs.

I would like a GX10 with improved ergonomics, a 4:3 format OLED viewfinder and some weather-proofing to take the place of my GX85. Frankly, I come from the age of film (starting off with a Zeiss Contessamat SBE follow-up'd by an Olympus OM-2n), and we really had great pictures then with no one complaining that they were not sharp enough. Nowadays, every Olympus and Panasonic we have would blow these cameras out of the water. What we need is more refinement, simplicity, smart-phone type synchonizations, and useability- not more megapixels. The revolution has already occurred. Now let's do some sensible evolution instead.

Sorry for this rant; I really very seldom do this, but the constant demand for "blow my mind with your next new camera iteration" really gets to me, since the people who incessantly preach that it is the photographer and not the camera that makes the difference are, indeed, correct. Unfortunately, the beauty of amateur photography is more and more a lost cause to smart phones for the younger generations, and we need cameras (and teachers) who excite them into making photography a true fulfilling hobby.

Can we please use M43 or m43 or MFT? Why MF3? Why not M4T? Both of those look wrong to me.
 
I know it makes my craigslist search queries super complicated
 
I can buy A7Riv now but both A7Rii and iii that I own has high res I need with adapted lenses. With Sony FF when I use long adapted lenses, unless there is lots of light, IBIS struggles to get large DOF at f8 to f11 for landscapes, where shutter speed drops. I like to shoot at lowest ISO as possible but often I have to bump up more than I like.

With G9, IBIS is way better, 2x crop and greater DOF of makes up for lower MPs of Sony.

2 x features I hope G10 will have are, HHHR mode and a litter better IBIS, like extra stop. HighRes mode on G9, mode2, is better than current Olympus offering, so if Panasonic can implement HHHR using Mode2 algorithm, I believe it will be better than A7Riv practically speaking for me..

Now I am happy with G9 and A7Rii/A7Riii combo as my travelling kit. I hope G10 can make me travel with m43 system only. 1 stop of IBIS will help too.
 
My pick for next camera is a GX10 with better evf and joystick, weather resistant would be nice too.

Also 5 stop ibis, can do away with the exp comp dial, but keep the tilting lcd rather than flip out screen.
