A Great Day Sailing [pics]

Thank you, Sue!
The mix of textures between the clouds and the water is just
lovely... and your exposure is perfect. Great work under tough
photo conditions!
The sky did get blown in that last one, but with one hand on the tiller; main sheet in the hand holding the camera, I didn't have time to try to meter it better!

ability to steer that boat and take a pic at the same time! I had a really hard time doing that! But it was SO much fun trying.

Your boat looks AWESOME. Love the pics.

I could tell you're having a hell of a time training your "divided attention" skill, otherwise, you wouldn't have blown out the sky :) just kidding. Great shots, I presume you had the IS engaged!

What a perfect day for sail racing today! Winds blowing 12-15
with gusts to 20; temp around 70; and just a great day to be on the
water! It is quite a workout when you're racing in stiff winds
but is about the most fun you can have at 7.5 knots!!! :))

I had a tough time taking these; shooting into the sun; steering
with the tiller with one hand and trimming the main with the other,
but snapped these off with the UZI:

We left this one in our wake:

Along with a few others:

These got away! The sky got a bit blown out but I didn't have
time to change any settings as I was pretty busy trying to sail the
boat!

These aren't technically that good but hope it gives you a little
flavor of the fun I had today! Too bad I couldn't take a shot of
my own boat heeling over!!

Holding the UZI with one hand, the camera was moving all over the place as the boat was rockin' and rollin' in the chop and wind gusts. No way I could have gotten anything close to these shots without IS!

I really wanted that one across my own boat, but just couldn't manage the settings and hang on to the boat at the same time!
