I am the new owner (4Hrs) of a D5000 having upgraded from a D90. The user's manual on page 11 lists HDR (high dynamic range) between Auto bracketing (#3) and Active D-Lighting (#5) on the information display. The HDR setting is not highlighted on the screen or on the regular menu screen and I cannot highlight it in any setting on the mode dial. I tried to activate it in both JPEG & RAW with no luck. Does anyone know what I am missing?

Thanks,

Keith

The D5000 doesn't do HDR. What camera model are you looking at? Also, be sure you are looking at the larger 300+ page reference manual

BTW...make sure you are in JPEG only mode, not using flash, and not in continuous /shooting release mode.

My opinions are my own and not those of DPR or its administration. They carry no 'special' value (except to me and Lacie of course)

I would rather take bracketed shots and work with them on the computer later.

That gives me the option of either selecting one image to adjust, or merging multiple images with HDR software.
