Mini Challenge #368 **** National Parks / UNESCO World Heritage Sites ****

Recently I have visited a few of the National Parks in the United States and amazed by their natural beauty.

I realize not all countries have a National park system though many outside the US also have their own National Parks as well. So any official National Park counts, in additional any shot from a UNESCO World Heritage Site counts well, the full listing of them is here.

Am limiting it to that criteria, please no National Monuments, places run by the National Park Service and related things of that nature that are not official National parks or official UNESCO Heritage Sites.

Let's see some great examples of natural wonders, landscapes, cultural/historical importance photos you may have in your collections.

No limited to landscapes, man made buildings in the photo, people or wildlife in the photo is perfectly fine.

Would appreciate any background about where you were, your trip, stories about getting the location for the shot, etc...

This Challenge begins now, and ends Thursday March 12, 2015 at 11:59 PM EST

Bill: You know I have high expectations for you in this challenge.

Very impressed with these 2 exhibitions:

Uncle Tom's Trail ; I know it well. Cool how we both have a rainbow in our shots from that trail, slightly different vantage point. Mine is about 90% down, your's looks like it is from the bottom landing area.

Thought I would be an (idiot) and run up the steps from the bottom as it was not crowed and I wanted to see if I could do it when I was there this August, so 8 months ago. Not a good idea I was huffing and back to walking about half way up looking in worse condition at the top than the elderly folks that take the afternoon to reach the top.

Going down is much different than the way back up.

WOW ; the contrast of the amazing puffy white clouds, white sand and ultra blue sky is fantastic on your White Sand Dunes National Park picture. Great job on that one!

I took this from the cockpit of an AN2 biplane. I was the copilot.

Wow, that's really cool. I imagine getting sharp shots during a flight like that is not an easy task!

If that was meant for me, note the (exb) in the title (exhibition).

What a postcard perfect European river town! Love the roof tops, leading lines of the curved river, etc... Great imagery here Jerry!

Is this far from Prague?

ENTRY or Exhibit?

Jerry another place I have not seen before and was forced to Google.

Did you know that church they guesstimate was the tallest building in the entire world from 1549-1625 (St. Olaf's Church)?

Thought that was cool. I can see this thread really improving my Trivia Crack geography and history scores!!!

Picture wise seems the sky was not cooperating too well that day but your captured the steeple well.

Love this POV of Venice! Feel like I have seen some many shots of this city but never seen this angle/view before.

Been to Italy a couple of times but not to Venice yet, would love to go!!!
