I threw a few shots onto pbase, pretty rushed tonight, I'll try to get some better shots on the weekend. (between the rain showers)

these are full frames, I lowered the compression so they won't take so long to load.

I shoot primarily at SHQ, 2288x1712. they are around 2.2 meg per frame, out of the camera

I'm impressed, you can manually select ISO 50, comes with the remote control, and rechargeable batteries.

Donald, your pics seem good !!
Can you tell me what's the brand of the adapter ?
Is the one for C700 ??
Besides, can you take some photos with external flash for us ??
We're really want to see the photo quality with external flash.
Thanks !!

P6190002, P6190013, and P6190014 were taken with the FL-40 flash

Thks Donald !
One more question, did you experience CA problem with this DC ??

Very nice indeed! It's interesting that in the FL-40 photos the depth of field seems quite narrow - the girl figurine and the cabinet door seem a bit out of focus.

Donald,
Could you please tell me what adapter is on the C750 in this pic
and where you purchased it. The Oly supplied option is black and
looks a little odd on the silver C750. Yours looks like it belongs
on the camera. Thanks.
Jack
Greetings Donald,

I picked up my C-750 earlier this week here in Austin. I am also interested in your response to Jack's question . . . Could you please tell me what adapter is on the C750 in this pic and where you purchased it?

I hope to post a few images Sunday afternoon after a trip to Houston. Thanks again for responding to Jack's question.

Kind regards,

I wonder why the 740 can't select ISO50 too...

it seems that Olympus launched the 740 prematurely,
and now the 750 has all the extras the 740 should have had from the begginning.

I think the 740 and 750 are just pitched as different priced cameras like you can buy a car in base model or premium level.

no, I don't think the ISO50 is an extra for the 750.

I think Olympus rushed the 740 into the market and didn't have time to finish the 740. Too bad, as firmware updates are useless according to Olympus...

I think it's very much a matter of the features available on different models, like buying a car. You can buy a basic version (like the C-740) or a deluxe model (like the C-750). there is quite a difference in price, and that's because there are more features. If you want the features, you have to pay for them. The C-740 is a much more basic camera, that's all.

I don't want to make a definitive statement until I have had a chance to get some more shots, I hope to get lots this weekend. at first glance though, I think the C-750 is much improved over the C-730.

I always shoot in SHQ mode, and the full frame shot for the C-730 was 2048x1536. the file size was generally about 1 meg per shot.

the C-750, in SHQ mode, the full frame shot is 2288x1712. the file size is around 2.2 meg per shot. Obviously they are not as compressed, would this make a difference in noise?

I will be adding a lot more samples over the weekend if time permits, I'll try to shoot hi and low F-stops, different ISO settings, I have 10 days to really shake this camera down before a trip to the Canadian Rockies in early July.
Please comment on the noise factor. Many people were concerned
that the 750 would be too noisy, and some of the preproduction
reviews mentioned it as a concern. What are your thoughts please?

I'm seriously considering the C-750 as my first digital camera. (I own a Canon Rebel with 28-80mm lens). I'm also considering Canon G3 (doesn't have enough zoom), Coolpix 5700 and Dimage 7i (both a bit out of my price range) and Sony DSC-717 (not as much zoom and expensive memory and batteries).

1. Any thoughts? Any and all commentes are much appreciated, either here or at my email.

2. I'm intrigued by the Minolta 7i because it can get 28mm equivalent. Is 35mm or 38mm good? Would a wide angle adapter resolve this?

3. Olympus' website doesen't even list ISO 50 as available (only 100, 200, and 400). I wonder why the discrepancy.

4. How much telephoto can you use with handholding it and not needing a tripod?

Thanks!
Andrew
