I have read the recent news article on DPR here:The i40 flash from Nissin will be available for my X-T1 in October

I think they are aware of their deficiencey regarding flashes. I have read in an interview somewhere (perhaps even on DPR) that they are working on it. No timing or specific products were mentioned as I recall.Just wondering why Fuji does not create its own Speedlite (commensurate with the quality of their lenses) with a high guide no.? I've committed to Fuji gear, but this is an irritating exclusion.
I have been using both the EF-20 and the EF-42. The EF-42 is actually usable and can produce great results. But it's no Nikon SB-700. (let alone SB-800).I hoped they would relase it sooner, I am waiting for a decent flash (system) for the Fuji..oktober is a long time waiting, maybe Fuji itself will come with a new range of flashes...

The article does mention the lash becoming available for Fuji at a later time.
However the Nissin spec sheet you linked to does not even mention Fuji as system for which they will make the flash unit available.
So, my questionis: what is the source of your information regarding availability.
The flash unit actually looks great to me too.

Mainly size I think. What's the advantage over the EF-42?
Doesn't it cost about $100 more?
Size, video led light, control setup, maybe build quality. What's the advantage over the EF-42?
Hi Speed Sync, a real asset when using fill flash at large apertures to blur the background. I have a outdoor session tomorrow, and I am going to have to haul around Canon gear in the event I need to use fill flash.
