maybe it's better to be out there for twilight shooting... but sometimes we just get held up and can't get ourselves out for that magic time. Here the floodlights built into the side walk throwing light up onto the sculpture and the jet black background makes up for missing twilight time.

is night time photography fun or what? This is a daddy showing his little girl how to shoot in the dark. Cool eh?

Great capture, Charlie. Indeed... another good reminder. But the truth is, you get home from work and find yourself too tired to rouse up for photography. All you want to do is hang out and watch Netflix. I need to make that effort. Maybe the vacation will help. LOL

you speak da true :-D

if it wasn't for some friends that gave me a call to meet them for a bite to eat... I would have been home. It's funny how someone else's enthusiasm can rouse me up.

about photography...that P.F. Changs pic was shot with a non VR lens... your kit lens has VR my kit lens does not. But then again that pic was shot with the 35/1.8 like this one.

It's a fine lens and one that both Rockwell and Polin (froknowsphoto.com) encourage their public to get when the budget allows for it. And I intend to get it BUT first I need to satisfy my craving for electric shavers. I only have three, you know. LOL (poor Snappie)

I haven't really tried the VR feature yet. I should look into tweaking the camera (and lens, I guess) settings. Anyway... back to your image. I love twilight shots although this one appears to be fully night. So does this inspiration man that you'll be pounding the pavement this evening? ;-)

nope...but I may tryt for another road side shrine.

BTW... I tried that idea of shooting 'something missing' last night.

the 35/1.8 wasn't wide enough...forcing me too far from where the watches were
