Since sony did not include an English manual with my camera, I have some questions. What is "landscape" and "panfocus" modes? Under what conditions should I use them? Thanks.

sanderI believe Panfocus is merely a distance setting that covers a depth of field from about 10 feet to infinity. It may include stopping down the aperture a bit to encompass a near range even closer than 10 feet.Since sony did not include an English manual with my camera, I have some

Yes. Panfocus will lock the lens at the hyperfocal distance & disable the zoom for use as a quick point-and-shoot fixed-focus camera. Very useful when you don't want to wait a second or two for the autofocus to lock on e.g. spontaneous 'people' shots?sanderI believe Panfocus is merely a distance setting that covers a depth of field from about 10 feet to infinity.
