Curiously, the D1 and D2 series are in the pro FX forum. Pretty sure they were DX and pro in their day.

It was probably just not practical to dis entangle the D1 and D2 threads from the old forum.

I find it odd that the D300 and D700 are not in the same forum. I shoot both and that they are almost identical other than one is DX and the other FX.

Pro Body D1-D4

Semi Pro D100-D300 & D700/D800

Enthusiast D70-D90, D7000 and D600

Entry Level, D40 - D5100.

I also find the naming of the D600 strange. I think it should be D8000 as it is an FX version of the D7000. Just saying, LOL.

They pretty much kept it all the same just changed the headings...I too expected to see the D1 and D2 conversation here as well once I saw the heading, but the 1 or 2 conversations still going on about those cameras wouldn't have made too much difference.

It appears DPR has rewritten history, and the D1 & D2 are now "full-frame digital SLRs". ;-)

D300, D700, D4, D3, D800, D600 etc are pro gear, not semi pro or enthusiast...

D7000 is a secondary (backup) pro (semi pro) camera...
