Accroding to someone who owns both the D4 and 1DX:

"When shooting fast action sports, I get about twice as many keeper shots in focus with the D4 than I do with the 1DX."

and..

" However, even at F/8, with me perfectly focusing on the subject the 1DX will occasionally miss focus and be blurry. The Nikon is never blurry with perfect subject focus and an aperture of F/8. (This is a camera difference)"

So the D4 AF is superior is some aspects.

Not really. They're only useless at F8, and the D4 AF blows the D4 is superior at F8 and low light anyway.

It's not that bad. My old D3 had some troubles to nail everything, but it was never inconsistant. Soft? The D3 sometimes maybe, but my D4 rivals my other camera the D800E in sharpness. Slow? Can't say that, my D3X was faster than my D3 and my new D4 is like a D3 with a turbo in it.

Where? I guess you never owned your own photobusiness. My gear cost around 50 K including lenses. Do you really think I throw all the money I payed down the toilet, just for one camera which is "maybe" marginally better? How stupid is that?
