The d100 in Washington DC

I used the 50mm for most of the interior shots, except where I could use a tripod, like the Library of Congress.

I just got back from DC with my d100. I shot for about five days,
and I am extremely happy with the results.
Those pics came out really well. Did you shoot with just the 24-85
or did you use the 50mm as well?

Hello Lee,

Great gallery! You have a well developed "eye" for composition and color. I really enjoyed browsing your shots.

I just got a D100 after trying the S2 and the D1H. The D100 seemed to be the best overall choice for my needs. Seeing a gallery like yours along with the many other fine shots posted would seem to vidicate my decision.

Thanks for posting,

Regards,

Mark

AWESOME shots. I live in DC and I haven't even come close to the quality of those. You're making me want to throw away my d100(slight exaggeration).

Excellent shots

I'd be extremely happy with them myself, Lee. There is nothing ordinary about that shoot. I like most of them alot but being a horseman, I'm partial to the image of Andrew Jackson on his majestic mount.

Security is not too bad! Everything gets searched everywhere you go, but the police/security are polite. I made the mistake of wearing all black, and they watched me like a hawk.

Tripods were prohibited almost everywhere I went. I have a great little manfrotto tripod that fits in my back pocket. I whipped that out whenever I could. But most shots are handheld.

Lee
Very nicely done! Where were you allowed to use a tripod, and
where was it prohibited? Thanks.

Don't throw it away! It took me a long time to get shots with mine. The secret is shooting in .nef and learning how to post-process. :)

I am still learning! And need to learn more!

Thanks!

I like that one too! Did you know that the Jackson statue is the first equestrian statue made by an American in America's history? Very interesting!

I used a my little minipod in the Library of Congress and National Cathedral. I didn't ask if I was allowed to or not. I just did! :)

Better to beg forgiveness than ask permission! :)
