Whitecity. Hello folks, I have just brought a Dell XPS 15 laptop with the full hd screen, but am having a nightmare calibrating this screen with the spyder 3 Elite device, after calibration the screen appears to have a great concentration of green, appear greenish,I will be very grateful if anybody can help me out with this issue. Thank you all.

Depends how green! I have a Dell XPS 15 with the 1920x1080. I've calibrated/profiled it (with Eye One Display 2 in my case) and it was a bit brown-ish compared to uncalibrated (but not green, I wouldn't have said). But it looks the same as other calibrated/profiled monitors I have on other computers, so I'm fairly confident that it's OK. The native white point of the screen was rather bluer before compared to after calibration.

If you've another monitor, maybe even another computer, try calibrating/profiling that and compare.

Other things to try: the "Colorimitre HCFR" ( http://www.homecinema-fr.com/colorimetre/index_en.php ) software measures the screen after calibration and reports what it sees. It uses your colorimeter, so if your Spyder 3 isn't working then it might not help, but if it is working then it will give an idea of how accurate the calibration/profiling is.

I had a similar problem with a strong greenish tint after calibration. I'm not sure if my approach is correct but to my eyes the display looks correct now. I would love to hear what others think: is this the worse thing to toin order to have an appropriately calibrated display?

Settings for Spyder3Pro software:
Display type: LCD (instaead of laptop)
Identify control: brightness only
Gamma: 2.2
Whitepoint: native
Brightness: 120

During the calibration I adjusted the brightness slider under Control Panel \ All Control Panel Items \ Display \ Adjust Brightness (Windows 7) - in my case I needed to go to a setting of 45 (this can be only seen if you use the Windows Mobility Center to make the adjustment instead of the control panel approach above)

Any thoughts, anyone?
