I have several Transcend Class 6 and one class 10 card. I did some timing of flushing the 40fps buffer with the two cards. The class 6 flushes in 22 secs and the class 10 takes 32 secs. This is bizarre. Perhaps there will be a firmware fix to speed up on all cards, especially the 'faster' cards.

As I understand it, the Class is based on the Read speed, not the Write speed. What is the write speed for the cards?

Regards,

Dan.

The "Class Rating" of SDHC cards is based on the guaranteed minimum write speed. It's very common for cards to perform significantly better than their minimum.

The guaranteed minimum write speed is exactly what you need to know for reliable recording of video, but it's a useful indication of the worst expected write speed for general photography as well.

I have both those cards and reported the same thing two weeks ago, the class 10 card was slower than the class 6 card, weird or what.
