I'm a new E20N owner. I already owned an E10 which I used for two days before I bought the E20N!! (Couldn't make up my mind I guess). I don't need two, so I'll probably sell the E10. This my current problem: I own a Magicolor 2200 Color laser printer which prints nice color. I'm sure I can get better photo prints from my new E20N with an ink-jet. Which one to buy is the question. Can anyone help? Thanks.

IMHO, the Epson Photo Stylus 2200 is clearly the best printer out there. Quality, archival inks, wide format 13"x19" and "only" $700. If you are looking for something less, any of the newer Epson Photo Stylus printers will do great!

I'm a Epson person. I love the Epson 1280. It really does print photo quality. I hear that the Canon 9000 is pretty good. It's supposed to be faster than the Epson but fall just a tad short of the Epson quality. Steve's-digicam is a good web site for reviews. I ordered the Epson 2200 but I've yet to see it. One day maybe?

I've owned several Epson printers, my flagship is the 2000P (forunner to their new 2200). Excellent printer, superb quality and archival inks. I've done a couple of weddings and grad sets using this setup. Very happy customers.

Get the Epson 2200 or the Canon S9000. Either one should blow you away and both have their advantages and disadvantages. If you can afford it, the 2200 is probably your best bet, if not, then the S9000 is a really great printer.

After comparing Epson and Canon, I went with the Canon S900 (8.5 x 11 version of the S9000 wide carriage printer). IMHO, the quality is the same, but the Canon prints a borderless 8.5 x 11 print in about 2 mins, which is reportedly 8 times faster than the Epson. Also, you can replace individual ink cartridges with the Canon, which I've done on 2 of the six colors which seem to run out much faster than the others. And I'm told the Canon uses less ink than the Epson in general, especially b/c Epson's purging process reportedly wastes a lot of ink. These were my reasons for buying the Canon. However, both brands make excellent photo-quality printers. Good luck!

Keep an open mind. I use an HP Injet 1700 and get color quality and detail "second to none" (an admittedly arguable point). A frustration I've had with Epson stylus printers is difficulty finding ink cartridges. That does not happen with HP and the 1700 is less money ($499) than an Epson 2200.

The Olympus P-400 is a very nice printer and produces excellent photo up to 8"x10". The recent price in HK is around $3500(US$440) and should be considered as one of the best buy.

Talking about printers, I have question.

I heard that if the cartridge head get broken on Epson printers it's very expensive thing, they even said that is almost as expensive as a all printer.

Wherethough you change whole high quality head with cartrige exchange in HP printers.
Is that truth?
I'm pretty satisfied HP user though speed is not virtue of HP.

I bought the HP 7150 photosmart. I am very happy. I've owned the EPson Stylus 600 in the past and although it had great prints, the head clogged when not in use for 2 weeks. I spent a lot of ink cleaning the head out. As far as the Hp's go, there is a new head in every cartridge. If it does dry out, then all you have to do is buy a new one. I do not print on a weekly basis so the HP is good for me! It also prints extremely well. I would say that you would not be able to differentiate between the Epsons and the new Hp's. I take all my keeper print's to Costco for prints on their Fuji machine for cheap.

I recommend you deciding how much money you want to spend and how often you're gonna print. Then pick accordingly.

Thanks Vince, even though I'm not considering new printer in near future I have HP930 and I'm stisfied. Yes it's slow on full resolution yes it doesn't print borderless pictures but it does print that satisfied my eye(for now).
I am considering to get A3 but that has to wait for now-no money, ha!

Obviously depends on your inteneded usage. I for one have decided to forgo the photo printer all toghether.

I print photos for things like the kids school projects, pinning up on the bullietin board etc on my standard ink jet printer, for fun.

All my keepers are saved on CD's

Memory albums are saved as VCD's to view on the T.V.

And for photo quality prints I use a print service.

Obviously not for everyone, but it works for us.

I would stay away from Epson. Granted they are the best in image quality, but not in build quality. I know because I have one (Photo 785). It's print head started to spash ink within 6 month, and I gave up on spending 2 hours to clean all the little rollers and guides, only to have vertical traces of inc in a metter of days. I regret not buying Canon or (Gasp!) HP printers. At least I could've used them. I'm not in a position to make another purchase yet, I guess I have to clean my Epson for now, but I would go with Canon, HP (but thouse guys are bad about providing updated drivers.. for free:(, or get a good quality thermo printer, although I gather that they are expensive to maintain (cartridge cost).

Good luck
