Hey all,
Over the weekend we went over to one of my favorite places... Kings Park Psychiatric Center. It's an abandoned asylum that's easy to walk around. Half of it is actually a state park with the buildings still standing. The other half you're really not supposed to walk around, but on a sunny Saturday afternoon security mostly leaves people alone, unless they are causing trouble of course.
Though I've been there many times, the place is HUGE and there are STILL new areas to find and discover. As someone who likes this type of photography, it's a dream come true. It also makes me want to get to some of the great ones out of state, though I know a lot of them are difficult to explore.
The whole series is here:

... the first 12 shots are from this weekend. Here's some of my favorites all taken with the Leica X1
Let me say too, the X1 is great for this type of shooting. Small and light, good high ISO performance, and small enough to get through holes and into tough to shoot places. The only thing I wish I had brought with me is my small gorilla pod
Thanks for looking!
