Very quiet here. People are probably watching WC.

I have tried to watch a few games, but the incessant noise from those #@%&!&^/ horns is just too irritating.

I tried turning off the sound, but soccer/football is not the most exciting spectator sport (IMO only) to start with. Take away the colour commentary from the show and not too much is left...

May every Pentaxian's favourite team come away with at least one victory! :)

Those medias have to pay really big bucks for exclusive network.

Not even Google is able to pay that money... and not even thinking about the speed those servers would need to watch in VGA resolution, at the very same time, something like 2 million broadcasters.

I don't think technology is there yet. Maybe for Brazil 2014.

The game Holland-Denmark was during working hours so a lot of people watched through Internet at work with good IQ. But the public television company limited the number of viewers to 120 thousand to prevent congestion problems like we had sometimes with the latest olympics. Due to the stupid rights issues you can't watch it abroad unless you fiddle with proxies.

Spain has just lost.
Ouch, that hurt. But with all the excitement about soccer everyone has lost sight of the rugby where there have been some good games. South Africa trounced France in Cape Town.

Don't forget the All Blacks gave the Irish a good todgering last weekend:) But most importantly we got our first ever point at the world cup this week! Notice how quiet the Aussies are about the world cup at the moment. I wonder why that is ;)

Yes indeed. All in all there is a good lead up to the opening game of the Tri-nations between the All Blacks and the Springboks. It should be a real humdinger of a match

Possibly, but I've noticed it's got very quite here over the last few months. I expect some of that is down to the fact that a lot of contributors are from the northern hemisphere, where it's now full summer and we're all out taking photos....

Then again, a 2 model line up doesn't leave much to talk about when they've been out for so long and no new lenses have been released since the 100 wr (I think), finally, if anyone feels like me about here then they probably don't think it's a nice place to have a general chat (about pentax photography of course :| ).

Yet it hardly makes the evening news here in the U.S. :D I only get broadcast stations, I don't pay $70/month for 150 channels filled with junk programming, 24 tabloid slanted news channels, nor the couple of well watched ESPN channels (which are the most expensive channels on "cable" TV aside from monthly subscription movie channels).

You'd all probably rather watch baseball (yawn...)

But I'm sure it's the rest of the world that are wrong eh ;)

ESPN is boring anyway.

Haha, ESPN sometimes implies so.

All sports, including (or especially, since it's more popular and competitive) soccer, require top talents. Top soccer players are definitely very athletic.
