Challenge 3 - CHAT - Divergence

I thought it was obvious with my title "Think Divergent" vs "Think Different" from Apple?-- well I thought I was being clever LOL... oh well!
Anyway it is the window light reflected on the Apple logo.
Thanks for your cool comments.
I am stunned...wow....what a beautiful photograph..but you gave no
details? I can't wait to get home and see that on a "real"
monitor, lol, but I cannot identify what it is in the photograph.
Can you share the info,please?

Hi Jarrell,

You might want to try turning on info.txt. You can do so in the "S" menu.

This will add a txt file to the card that contains some exif info about every shot on the card. Below I pasted the kind of info that is recorded.

Ken.

Hi all.

I'm new round here but the challenge is such a good idea I just had to jump straight in. I agree, blends picture is excellent, although the quality and divergence of all the pics are wonderful - three votes won't be enough!! I look forward to joining in with future challenges.
What an excellent example of divergence! I gotta say, some of the
Yeah, that pic is a winner--very nice!

Just out of curiousity, is it possible for something to show
greater divergence than lines eminating from a single point outward
such as in this picture?

Hi Ken ! I tried to use this system, but it seems that it slows down quite a lot the writing process when you take a picture... It's allready too long for me sometimes (when I would take other shots rapidly (without having to use the "continuous" mode) ! But in case you really want to get the EXIF infos for a specific photo, it's very usefull indeed...!

Funny how people "view" DIVERGENCE ! To me, most of the pics are in fact showing more CONVERGENCE than DIVERGENCE...

And more: someone sent a photo of an escalator starting from the LEFT and going UP to the RIGHT and then UP again to the LEFT ! ...from the "viewer" point of view (!?!) it' would be more DIVERGENT if the photo was mirrored, as one tends to look fro LEFT to RIGHT !

Anyway, it's fun to see all of these pics, and I think these "challenges" are one of the best thing that happened for a long time... it really oblige people to reflect and use their imagination...

Does it really slow the writing? I'll have to try. I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste the EXIF.

Ken, is this the only solution? I tried iView, iPhoto and Photoshop and couldn't copy anything...

The camera is slow, but never compared with it on or off. I will have to try it later!

Thanks J-P

Hello Hariette!

If info.txt is on it puts one txt file on your flash card whether you take one shot or a few hundred. When you copy the files to your computer you can view the txt file with a word editing program. I was going to say notepad, but I noticed you have a mac.

This is not the only way to check exif. I just find it convient since I do not have to open a exif view to check info while browsing my shots. J-P stated that this might slow the camera down a little. I will have to try it with it off to compare.

Great challenge shot by the way! The logo looks like it is mother of pearl.

My daughter thinks it is a fancy glass plate on a colourful piece
of material?
Close?
That is a great shot. My guess is a shallow pool of water on a colorful dish with a quick wave created by dragging something across the surface.

A diffraction grating is great idea! I'll have to mess around with one as I'm sure I have a couple laying around in the shed. I'll bet there a lot of cool pics that one could blend in the effects from the grating. It's like getting a double exposure for free--great idea!
