what lens is best for wedding, especially indoors

Hi,

Can someone recommend me super sharp zoom/fix lens for S2pro that is good for wedding and no softness at the lowers aperture number? e.g. f2.8, i dun mind its not as fast, but sharpness is top most priority.

don't shoot weddings much, but the Nikkor 50 mm 1.4 is tack sharp beyond f2.0 and not bad below it

I love my Nikkor 35-70mm 2.8 for affairs, though I rarely put it to use wide open...in its mid f stop ranges, it is very sharp

I shot over 1200 photos at two weddings this weekend with the Tokina 28-70 ATX Pro II 2.6-2.8 lens . . . great glass, almost too sharp for close-ups of brides over 25 . . .

I just did some comparison with new Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AF/D lense
and my old Nikkor 50mm 1.4 AIS. The AIS version is much sharper
at f1.4. To bad it doesn't meter with the S2, though focusing would
still be difficult. err#!@#@!

oh yeah the Tokina 28-70 ATX PROII is what I use for my
wedding shoots and its great! soft at 2.8, usable at 4.0,
sharp at 5.6, good price, but it doesn't go wide enough.
Now I use my 15mm voigtlander for that.

This past Sunday I shot my first wedding. And I shot it with my S2.

I used the Nikon 35-70mm f/2.8 lens for most of the shots. For the wider shots, I had my n90 w/ a Tamron 28-200mm ready to go. Fortunately, I did not need to use that camera.

Settings:
Custom White Balance
+1 EV flash compensation
Sunpak PZ5000AF flash on a stroboframe
Fine Mode, JPEG

For the portraits and alter return photos, I used 2 strobes and 2 umbrellas along with the camera mounted flash.

If you would like a full resolution image to look at to determine sharpness, I would gladly post it. Just let me know which image(s).

Being that this was my 1st wedding, I would appreciate some comments so that I can improve. I already employed alot of techniques I learned from this forum.

It lets more light in to assist focus because the aperture only closes down just before the shot is taken

Go and buy the 28-70 AFS it's the sharpest zoom out there. I am a pro wedding photographer and use this lens on the S2. Have posted samples in the past and have more if you wish to see them
