I bought the S90 and I'm returning it tomorrow because I think the rear wheel is a major design flaw. As I wrote in another post it ruined a few of my pictures and I see it as a major problem when using the camera. A friend of mine is interested in the G11 and I'm wondering if it has the same wheel and therefore the same problems discussed widely in this forum with the S90. If it does I will recommend to him to pass on the camera. Thanks for your input.

In another post it seem to infer it was the same. In the pictures I've seen it looks the same. If there are some G11 users out there let me know what they think and can you confirm it is or is not the same kind of looseness that the S90 has?

If you don't believe him then tell your friend to buy a pentax. It won't make a difference to anyone here. If you want to know what the wheel is like then go find a G10, G9 or G7. They are pretty much the same.

Instead of spinning easily like the S90 the G11 has detents (? it clicks) as you spin the wheel on the back.

I own the S90 and tried both G11 and S90 at Best Buy because of all the posts. I was curious. I would call it almost a draw for the camera samples I tried. Same diameter, same feel. I find it hard to be believe Canon would have created two different controls that are nearly identical. Waste of money if they did.
