A walk in the park

Pieter,

Excellent! I especially like the structure ones. Some are incredibly calming and peaceful. You did a great job in capturing the feeling of being there.

Just posted a gallery of park pictures.
I think they are my best shots yet with the 6900.

Thanks Jay

I'm usually a very demanding person (esp. for myself), but I'm actually satisfied with these results. That's probably because the images captured the atmosphere, like you say.

In case you were wondering...
  • 100 ISO
  • P mode, or aperture priority to play with DOF
  • WB: cloudy, except when in bright sunlight (sunny or auto)
  • spot metering: for difficult conditions such as under trees (high contrast)
(well lit scenes shot with multi metering)

Very good pictures Pieter, naturally, I like 1262. Personally I would have under exposed it a little. But that's my opinion.
:-)

And of course i like the fountain too (1313). Did you try slow shutter speed on that?

That's one of my favorites too. I believe exposure is a matter of taste, but this one pretty much represents what your eyes would have seen on that day. (Or maybe that's just the difference between your monitor and mine.)

I tried slow and fast, but I prefer the freezing of the water drops.

Thanks for your comments. Other people's thoughts make you think about your pictures, try different approaches and eventually... get better results.
