Three 580EXII/EXs one on each side and one on top of my camera. No umbrellas as it was very, very windy. Bare flash with the wide angle panel down for all three speedlights.
Decided to use a circular polarizer as I wanted more contrast and saturation right off the bat without resorting to PPing.
Brought the 300/2.8 L IS too and it was great for the beach as coincidentally there was a lot of debris on the beach i.e. falling tree branches and etc. so I could have blurred these distractions. Unfortunately, the TT5s did not work-----I guess I was way too far from the lightstands. I should have positioned the lightstands closer to me and shoot at mid-ISOs to compensate for the distance. I am going to get that PW RF shield once it is available so I can use my 300L. Anyway, I went back to the 24-105L IS.
About the 5DMKII-------it seems that the AF performance for 'subject-heavily-backlit' situations is getting better than before. The sun was really bright and my camera/lens seldom had to hunt-----I am very impressed.
As an aside, now I know why my brand new Oakley prescription progressive lenses sunglasses are so expensive----it looks like I am getting more protection than my regular prescription sunglasses. Still I did not want to stare too long at the sun when shooting Jess from below.
I have lots more to PP but here are some I have processed so far. Can't wait to work with Jess again in the Fall. As usual I welcome all comments.
