I was at a local electronics retailer today, and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the sticker. Especially when the one under it read $799!

I know I might sound a bit silly for even asking, but at this price is it a good investment?!
The longest lens I own right now is the 40-150(mk I) but yeah . . .

Thoughts?

The last time I got a price that was similar it was an error - I should have just paid for it rather than seeking clarification...

The Olympus EC-14 is listed at $400 on B&H. Your price is simply outrageous!

Just make sure it is actually the EC-14 teleconverter, and not some knockoff or front telephoto magnifier or something for OM system.

see thats what I thought, I'd be able to at least sell it for about that price and make a decent margin if i don't use it haha

Oh it is definitely the real thing, sitting on top of its original box and had that lovely patchy metal texture - the same as on the 14-54 and other pro lenses.

PS. to Holgs: Even if it wasn't the correct price, thats the one which was printed so by law they have to give it to me since the descriptions were matching ;)

The 1.4 isn't being discontinued is it?

In Victoria...

I'll be back there very soon, with my fingers crossed that no one else noticed it!

There is a massive one day sale on today, but I think that this wasn't a part of that sale either.

Goodluck aussies ;)

edit There was only one on show, but maybe they had more, I didn't ask! When I go back ill see if its company wide.

ps. No no, not an EX-25 - it had lenses in it :)

Hi Tom....

Victoria... bout 30 stores there from what I can tell... after you get yours, can you let us know which store and I will call them up...

They dont sell "Top End" Olympus stuff here in Hobart...

Cheers
Chumby.

I just bought the 70-300 for $299 in Sydney on Sunday- They were behind the counter on diispaly with very small text which made it hard to read so I also almost bought the EX25 extension thinking it was the pancake for $158. Happy with the zoom though as almost bought a used one on ebay that went for $480

So the story goes something like this:

It was the display model, had been there for a good two years+ (funnily enough it was there when i bought my E500, 25k shots ago lol) It is in perfect condition both aesthetically and optically.

The sticker on the box said $799.95
It scanned on the computer for $649.95
But the sticker said $149.95, so that is the price they gave it to me for :D

They told me that it was the only one in stock, possibly because they wouldn't want to lose another $500 lol It was from the Taylors Lakes store.

AND before I had a look at it I was helping another customer pondering a new DSLR purchase . . . pointing him towards an E-510 naturally ;)

Goodluck to anyone else who could find an incorrectly ticket lens!
