I have had a load of hama batterys for a few months now, and had never used most of them, untill I purchased a Fuji 602 and it taking 4 batterys they all came out from hybernation.
I also got the hama recharger for the batterys.

Now my question, I charged them all , 1/2 in the hama charger and half in a kodak rapid battery charger. Now the hama took all night to charge 4 batterys, while the kodak took only a hr or two. Now some pleb in the house mixed them all up so I could not test them, anyhow I charged them all now about a week ago, and when I came to use them there all flat!

Is this normal for rechargable batterys to go flat within a week when there not being used?

Firstly, I always consider that the longer charge is better than a fast charge as it does the job nice and steadily, properly controlled and it's definitely better for the first time of charge for any battery. They shouldn't really have gone down that quickly, within a week, if fully and properly charged, but in a way it does not surprise me. I've had quite varied results from Hama batteries, not only AAs but also their make of an equivalent Li-Ion type 'proprietory' replacement. I just don't like them as much now and try to avoid the make if others are available. No idea why, as they ARE a well-known and established maker but that's what I find so I just don't buy them now.

Try another good name set, slow charge for at least 14/16 hours first time, leave a week or so and see if THOSE work or not. If they do, it's the Hama ones isn't it !

sometimes conditioning the batteries helps. fully charge, then fully drain, 3 times. but the guy before me was right, the longer you charge them the better. i also agree it might be the brand.
